Tiger Lillies

Tiger lilies are special in my family. My grandmother has been growing them for longer than I have been alive. She gives them out to all of us when we move to grow in our own gardens in our new houses. To me, home isn't home without tiger lilies, so I am hoping to capture the family connections and essence of creating a home. I chose to make several blubs to focus on my grandmother’s act of giving as she gives them to us in cardboard boxes freshly from her garden still covered in dirt. I also chose to include two flowers to show that I am the second in her chain of giving to me as the first was my mother and to show what the blubs grow into.
